John Long
John Long is passionate about nurturing people and local businesses. The appeal of Texas pride, community, and culture lured John and his family to Schertz in 2005. He knew he needed to leave the hustle and bustle of the east coast to raise his family in the great state of Texas. His wife Julia is a special education teacher. Together they have 2 beautiful children.
John brought with him a rich resume of experience in the auto repair industry. He’s been building his skill set and knowledge base since 1997. John has been a part of Schertz Auto Service since 2005. His responsibilities include overseeing daily operations and managing the auto repair shops.
Attention to detail is a defining characteristic of John’s. His attentiveness has led him to leverage software and technology systems necessary for daily shop operations. John has graciously shared this talent with other repair shops. They’ve been able to lean on John’s insight for their own system integrations.
Weekly team lunches are one of the many ways we foster a collaborative work environment. John is our resident chef, showcasing another of his many talents.
After years of hard work and dedication, John became a partner in 2017. John’s investment in personal growth and development led him to a business coaching program through the Transformers Institute. This coaching program brings together like-minded shop owners. They share a commitment to the growth of teams and organizations.
Beyond his efforts in the shop, John has presented at conferences on the topics of productivity, customer service, and best practices. He’s highly regarded by his peers as an industry expert in utilizing technology and standardized processes. These allow us to gain competitive advantages and improve efficiencies.
Shop owners from across the United States tour Total True Automotive facilities as John demonstrates our team culture. He gives these owners insight into how we’re able to achieve high customer satisfaction and employee retention.
The biggest testament to John’s success as a leader is the loyalty he’s earned from his teammates. They WANT to work for him. They have a passion for growth. John has created an environment of personal and professional development.
